You do not need to be an architect to enjoy the tour. You don’t have to have any specialized skills. We talk about the history of these areas and the people who lived here. We talk about how history and architecture intersecting to tell the stories of the people who lived here. Expect to learn some new vocabulary and new ways to describe your favorite buildings in New Orleans! Here is a timeline of New Orleans buildings to get you familiar.
Yes, you need to make a reservation to join our tours. Walkups can only be accepted if there is still space available, and we hate to turn people away. Making a reservation is easy, just click on any of the “Book Now” buttons and enter your information. If you would prefer to speak to a representative, just call (504) 355-1213. If I do not respond, be sure to leave a message as I might be on a tour.
We understand that plans change. We offer refunds if you contact us 24 hours prior to the start time of your tour. To notify us please send an email with your name, tour time and date and refund request to info@nolatours.com. We will gladly reschedule you if there are spaces on another tour!
New Orleans is a subtropical landscape prone to heavy rainstorms (which keeps our foliage lush and beautiful). We do tour in rain, but have to postpone or even cancel tours if the weather becomes dangerous- thunder and lightning, hail, flooding, etc. In the event that we feel it is best to cancel a tour due to hazardous weather, we will contact our guests via text and/or email and either reschedule or issue a refund. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with weather concerns. Bring an umbrella!
Each tour is two hours long. We walk approximately 1-1.5 miles at a very leisurely pace. One would probably consider it a stroll.
Our tours are suitable for all ages.
Online reservations require a credit card to process.
If our website lets you book, please feel free to do so and join us. If not, give us a call (504-355-1213) and see if any spaces have opened up due to cancellations.
You should bring water, an umbrella (for rain and sun), and sunscreen. While we don’t have any hills, the sidewalks in even our most picturesque neighborhoods can be challenging, so be sure to wear comfy shoes.
Our guides work hard to provide the best tour experience to our guests. If you enjoyed your tour it is customary to show your appreciation by tipping your guide.
We sure do! We offer private tours for large and small groups. Private tours are great for birthdays, corporate parties, and convention groups. We have even had wedding tours for a family celebrating a destination wedding in New Orleans! Check out our “Private Tours” page to learn more!
